There is a growing understanding of the impact that taking part in the arts can have on health and wellbeing.
Ben Uri is currently running three projects, united by their exploration of the ways in which creative arts can enhance the lives of older adults.
Creative Spaces: Run in conjunction with care homes as a series of fun, exploratory weekly art sessions with a group of residents living with dementia. (contact Emma if you know of a care home which would be interested in having sessions).
Picturing Memories: In conjunction with art therapy students. Picturing Memories’ has demonstrated the positive effects to be gained from participating in art for those living with dementia and will continue to explore these benefits, bringing happiness, stimulation and interaction to many along the way.
PROVACAT (Practicing or Viewing Art, Cognitive Ability Trial)
PROVACAT marks the start of Ben Uri’s ongoing commitment to research into the wider debate surrounding wellbeing and art.
