111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free.

  • Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals.
  • They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

If emergency medical treatment is needed, you must still call 999.

  • Go to 111.nhs.uk (for people aged 5 and over only)
  • If you have difficulties communicating or hearing:
  • call 18001 111 on a textphone
  • use the NHS 111 British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter service if you're deaf and want to use the phone service
