The Scootability scheme, run by Camden and Islington Council, provides powered wheelchairs and scooters for free on a short-term loan. For service users who require a powerchair for outdoor mobility only (ie for people who are still mobile within their home).
Scootability loans vehicles to residents in Camden and Islington who meet the following criteria:

be at least 16 years

have a mobility impairment

have proof of permanent residence

have suitable charging and secure storage facilties

have a vehicle accessible home

have suitable charging and storage facilities
Service provided:

provides powered wheelchairs and scooters for free on a short term loan basis

loan periods are from one to seven days at a time

two types of free membership available
-
delivery to and pick up from the service user's home
-
powerchair training offered
-
custom made ramps for eligible users who may require them

a home assessment carried out by a qualified professional to ensure that a vehicle will not be stolen or vandalised

members scheme insurance provided and members are sent the terms and conditions
