Our Connect London Service is funded by London Councils and aims to prevent homelessness through early intervention for people over the age of 25. We assist 5000 clients in housing need each year. The service offers face to face generalist welfare benefits and debt advice and specialist housing advice in London boroughs as well as a London as well as a pan-London telephone advice line. We provide employment support and help to access accommodation through our partner St Mungo's Broadway. The service additionally includes Link workers to help client's access holistic support via other local services.
We have a team of Advice, Support and Guidance Workers who deliver specialist housing advice, generalsit debt and welfare advice to service users through a number of avenues including face to face drop in and outreach session, phone and email.
We work directly with St Mungo's who support our clients with:
Real Lettings - finding suitable private rented accommodation including securing PRS accommodation via property negotiators
Employment, Training & Education - Linking them into Employment, Trainig & Education opportinities
In addition to this we are able to refer into a anumber of other Shelter Services such as:
Shelter London Legal Team - For clients who are eligible for Legal Aid
Hackney Family Service - Aims to prevent homelessness and secure access to safe, affordable housing for families witn complex needs in the borough of Hackney.
Shelter Funded Services (based in Hackney) - To assist clients via telephone or face to face
Asthe Connect London Service does not support under 25's, we try to support through our Shelter Funded Services or signpost to Charities that do work with under 25's such as New Horizon and Alone in London.
