Camden contacts for disabled people's adaptations and equipment

This page, on the "Social care and health" section of Camden Council's website, lists a number of agencies offering advice, adaptations and equipment for Camden residents who are disabled and could benefit from a variety of services.

Service available:

  • Physical disability - If you have a physical disability, there is support to enable you to live independently.  Visit the Equipment and assistive technology page for further information.

  • Occupational Therapy service can provide, contact Adult Social Care, Front Door Duty Team. Tel 020 7974 4444 and say 'adult social care' when prompted.
  • Sport and leisure - Better (GLL) is a not for profit charitable social enterprise  delivering a better quality of fitness and leisure for everyone in Camden.  Better provide a Community Disability Programme, offering a range of activities from swimming to football and others across Camden's leisure centres.   • Activities for disabled people - The Camden Council website lists a number of activities for disabled people.
  • Camden Centre for Independent Living - The Camden Centre for Independent Living (CIL) is an organisation run by disabled people for disabled people. CILs promote the principles of independent living, where people of all disabilities have equality of opportunity and access, and have choice and control about decisions over their own lives.The Camden CIL is led by Camden Disability Action and provides information, advice and support for disabled people, D/deaf people, people who have a learning disability, people who use British Sign Language, and people whose first language is not English.Contact Camden Centre for Independent Living

  • Other resources - A Sunflower lanyard is a simple, optional way for someone to show they have a disability or condition that might not be visible. It helps people let others know they may need a bit more time, understanding or support when they’re out and about, without having to explain. You can get a Sunflower lanyard for free from some places like transport hubs, shops or services that support the scheme.
